From breathtaking red rock landscapes to cozy dining spots and unforgettable activities, Sedona invites you to create lasting memories. This guide will walk you through the perfect romantic weekend, featuring dining options, exhilarating hot air balloon rides, scenic hikes, and a stay at the adults-only Stargazer Cottage, Bungalow, or Loft—your perfect base for romance and relaxation.

A Cozy and Private Stay at Stargazer Cottage, Bungalow, and Loft
Your romantic weekend begins with choosing the right place to stay. The adults-only Stargazer property offers three unique accommodations: the Cottage, the Bungalow, and the Loft. Each space is designed to provide privacy, comfort, and a touch of luxury, making it the perfect retreat after a day of adventure.
Cottage: The Stargazer Cottage offers a slightly more elevated, tucked-away feel — ideal for couples looking for a peaceful escape. With its private hot tub and cozy interior, it’s a place to fully disconnect and recharge. It’s the kind of stay where you settle in quickly and don’t feel the need to rush anywhere.
Bungalow: The Stargazer Bungalow is one of our most loved stays — a private, thoughtfully designed space perfect for slowing down together. Spend your mornings with coffee outside, your days exploring Sedona, and your evenings unwinding in the hot tub under the stars. It’s simple, quiet, and intentionally designed for a romantic weekend away.
Loft: The Stargazer Loft is a cozy, modern tiny home that’s perfect for a laid-back weekend in Sedona. It’s intimate without feeling small, with everything you need to relax after a day of hiking or wine tasting. End your evenings in the hot tub or by the pool, and enjoy a quiet, easy stay designed for two.
All three options provide easy access to Sedona’s top attractions while offering a peaceful sanctuary to unwind.

Dining Experiences to Savor Together
Sedona’s dining scene offers a variety of options that cater to romantic evenings. Whether you prefer fine dining or casual meals with a view, Sedona has something to satisfy every palate.
Mariposa Latin Inspired Grill: Known for its stunning views and flavorful dishes, Mariposa offers a menu inspired by Latin American cuisine. Enjoy dishes like grilled steaks, fresh seafood, and vibrant salads while watching the sunset over the red rocks.
The Hudson: This casual yet upscale restaurant serves American cuisine with a focus on fresh, local ingredients. The outdoor patio is perfect for a romantic dinner under the stars.
Elote Cafe: For a more intimate and authentic experience, Elote Cafe offers Mexican-inspired dishes with bold flavors. The cozy atmosphere and creative cocktails make it a favorite among couples.
Forty1: Located inside the Ambiente Hotel, this is true fine dining and one of our favorite spots for a special meal. They feature local sourced ingredients, excellent service always, and are consistently voted most romantic restaurant in Sedona.
Planning your meals around sunset or stargazing times adds an extra layer of romance to your dining experience.

Hot Air Balloon Ride Over Sedona’s Red Rocks
One of the most unforgettable activities for couples in Sedona is a hot air balloon ride. Floating gently above the red rock formations at sunrise offers a breathtaking perspective and a peaceful, shared experience.
Timing: Early morning flights provide the best light and calm winds.
What to Expect: The ride lasts about an hour, with spectacular views of Sedona’s unique landscape, including canyons, mesas, and forests.
Tips: Dress in layers as it can be chilly in the morning. Bring a camera or smartphone to capture the stunning views.
Romantic Touch: Many balloon companies offer champagne toasts after landing, perfect for celebrating your adventure together.
This experience combines excitement with tranquility, making it a highlight of any romantic weekend. Our favorite company to recommend is Red Rock Balloons, you can often see them floating over our homes!

Hiking Sedona’s Scenic Trails
Sedona is famous for its hiking trails that range from easy walks to challenging climbs. Exploring these trails together allows you to connect with nature and each other.
Cathedral Rock Trail: A short but steep hike leading to one of Sedona’s most iconic viewpoints. The climb is rewarding with panoramic views perfect for couples’ photos. You will often see newlyweds taking pictures at the peak.
Bell Rock Pathway: This moderate trail offers stunning views and is less crowded, ideal for a peaceful hike.
Devil’s Bridge Trail: Known for its natural sandstone arch, this trail offers a fun challenge and a great photo opportunity.
West Fork Trail: A shaded, scenic trail along a creek, perfect for a leisurely walk surrounded by lush vegetation.
Remember to bring plenty of water, wear sturdy shoes, and start early to avoid the heat. I would also recommend downloading the AllTrails App for maps and trail information. Hiking together offers moments of shared achievement and quiet reflection. If you need more hiking ideas you can see my previous blog post here!
Capturing Your Memories with Professional Photos
A romantic weekend in Sedona deserves to be remembered. Hiring a local photographer to capture your moments amid the stunning landscapes is a wonderful way to preserve your experience. We highly recommend Lisa G

Best Locations: Secret Slick Rock Trail, Cathedral Rock, Bell Rock and West Fork Trail are all popular spots to catch a beautiful sunset as your backdrop.
Timing: Schedule your photo session during golden hour—shortly after sunrise or before sunset—for soft, flattering light.
What to Wear: Choose outfits that complement the natural colors of Sedona’s landscape—earth tones, soft pastels, or vibrant colors.
Benefits: Professional photos allow you to relax and enjoy the moment while someone else captures your connection and the beauty around you.

Evening Stargazing
Sedona and the surrounding area is known for its dark skies and clear nights, making it a prime spot for stargazing. On particularly dark evenings you can even see the Milky Way. Our patios and large viewing deck in the middle of our property make for extraordinary stargazing. After a day exploring, come back, relax, and unwind under the starry skies.
